We should be targeting Iginla for our 2nd line RW. He's a more complete player, grit, scoring, passing, leadership, and experience. Clarkson will be ineffective before Iginla is, a much better signing if you ask me, given they both are going to sign around the same per year. Not to mention, I think he'd be great playing alongside Kadri.

Clarkson produces when put on the first line... He could create space on a line with kessel and kadri and has shown hes got the finishing skills to accent both kadri and kessels play making abilities... i think it could work

Yeah, and the 36 year old is still a better player, capable of 60-80 pts.

Clarkson playing with Kadri would probably change your mind.

really? cuz he was on new jerseys and was putting up 30+ goals a season... seems like your argument is flawed...

Clarkson had one 30 goal season. Before that he never broke 20

Never had more than 50 pts, and we're talking about giving him 5m?!

He's not the embodiment of a PF too, he's only 6' - 200lbs

He's a 30 goal scorer who can open up space for his linemates. nothing wrong with him on the first line.

Good move grabbing Bolland, good versatile centre, knows how to play with big shooters. Still wondering when the defensive help is coming...

Well he shouldn't have been, he's not that good, was Darcy Tucker a 1st liner too?

for how many more seasons and then retires... hes doesnt fit our age group... as much as i love iggy... not to mention him and phaneuf clearly didnt work once before... and why would iggy spend his waning years helping toronto take then enxt step when he could try for cups? he woulda stayed in calgary if he wanted to do that... use some logic... dont just spout points and then make all encompassing statements

Clarkson woon't be on the first line, but with Lupul and whoever at centre, should be a nice tough to deal with sencond line.

Was Jonas Hoglund a 1st liner? Or was he just put there out of necessity? Your argument is flawed.

I'd rather throw 2 years at 5 million per toward Iginla then Clarkson who will only become a whipping boy once he's down on the 3rd line being paid 5 million+ per year.
